Har Ki Dun- at the base
of the majestic Swargarohini (peak), this green valley with
its crown of glistening white peaks is truly deserving of
its name- ‘The Valley of the Gods’. It is believed
that in ancient times great Sages came here for meditation
owing to its tranquil environs.
Day 01:
Arrival New Delhi.
Meeting upon at IGI - Indhira Gandhi International Airport
and transfer to hotel.
Day 02:
Delhi Rishikesh, 230 kms, 6-7 hrs drive, car
Morning breakfast, afterwards drive to Rishikesh 6 hrs approx..
Rishikesh the most famous meditation and spritual center.
Situated on the banks of river Ganges. Surrounded by Shivalik
range of lower Himalayas on three side. Also its the starting
point of all four sacred shrines. Check into hotel evening
visit surrounding of RishiKesh : Laxman Jula and Ashrams.
Overnight hotel.
Day 03
: Rishikesh / Uttarkashi
A drive of approx. 6 hrs after an early breakfast. Breathtaking
views for the enthusiastic traveller. From flowing rivers
to exotic hills, a keen eye will catch sight of the change
in flora at different heights.
Day 04
: Uttarakashi / Kalyani / Dodi Tal
A short drive before you set off on the trekking that awaits
you the next few days. Dodi Tal is a sparkling and crystal
clear lake which is surrounded by forests. The trek ascends
gradually through thick forests and beautiful mountanious
scenery. Anglers interest - the famous Himalayan Trouts are
found in abundance in this lake. Permits for angling can be
obtained.
Day 05
: Dodi Tal / Sima
After Darwa Top the trek passes through a long ridge with
a view of meadows on both sides.
Day 06
: Sima / Hanuman Chatti
4 kms into trekking and one walks into dense forests of fur
and deodar which are full of rare himalayan birds and animals.
Interesting downhill routes take you to the base camp.
Day 07
: Hanuman Chatti / Netwar
Panoramic scenes and the drive along the river Yamuna in western
Garhwal. The region is better known for the polyandrous society.
Day 08:
Netwar / Taluka
This part of the Har-ki-Dun trek over the next few days is
of great interest. Motorable road under construction. The
forests are rich in wildlife and is veritable paradise for
bird watchers and nature lovers. The trek is through dense
forests of chestnuts, walnuts, willows, chinars and a variety
of conifer trees.
Day 09 : Taluka / Har-ki-dun
Har-ki-Dun is surrounded by glittering peaks and dense forests.
The forests are rich in wild life and is veritable paradise
for bird watchers and nature lovers. The walk is through lush
green terraced fields, grassy lands and very thick conifer
forests. It is one of the most picturesque spots in the Garhwal
Hills

: Har-ki-dun / Taluka
Day 11
: Taluka / Netwar
Day 11-12
: Netwar / Mussoorie
After arrival and a visit to the Mall, spend your day relaxing
in the midst of the serene hills of Mussoorie. Overnight stay
at Mussorie - departure - Check out of the Hotel to leave
for onward destination - Dehradun / Haridwar / Rishikesh Or
stay more in Mussorie.

01:Delhi-Haridwar - Early morning arrival at Delhi.
0700 hrs departure by train to Haridwar. Day at leisure to
explore this holy town. Visit the 'Aarti' (holy ceremony)
performance at the river 'Ghat' at sunset. Overnight in Hotel.
Day
02: Haridwar-Renuka - Drive to this little lake nestled
in the 'Shivalik' foot hills. En-route visit the Sikh temple
at Paunta Sahib on the banks of river Yamuna. Evening at leisure
to explore the surroundings. Overnight in Hotel / Guest House.
Day
03: Renuka-Taluka - Drive to the road-head at Taluka.
It is a long journey through the picturesque Garhwal mountains.
Taluka is located at 1900m next to the Har ki dun river amidst
beautiful forests. Overnight in Forest Bungalow.
Day
04: Taluka-Osla - Begin the trek; a gradual ascent
brings you to the picturesque Osla village along the swift
rivulet. Overnight in Forest Bungalow. ( 12 Kms, 5-7 hrs walking
)

05: Osla-Har Ki Dun - Climb to the higher reaches
of the mountains to reach Har Ki Dun (3566m), the beautiful
'Valley of Gods' ! Overnight in Forest Bungalow. ( 11 Kms,
5-7 hrs walking )

06: Har Ki Dun - Day for rest.

07: Har Ki Dun - Day at leisure to explore the surroundings.
Day
08: Har Ki Dun-Osla - Trace the route back to Osla.
Overnight in Forest Bungalow. (4-5 hrs walking)
Day
09: Osla-mid way Camp - Cross the river and take
the trail to Saptrishi Kund. Halt mid way at a suitable site
on the banks of Ruinsara stream. Overnight in Tents. (Aprox.8
Kms, 6-8 hrs walking)
Day
10: Camp-RuinsaraTal - Continue the uphill trek to
this small lake in the high reaches of the Himalayas. Overnight
in Tents. ( Aprox. 8 Kms, 6-8 hrs of walking )

11: Ruinsara Tal - Day for rest.
Day
12: Ruinsara Tal-Yamnotri - From here the trail is
generally downhill; reach Yamnotri- the source of the river
Yamuna, and an important Hindu pilgrim centre. Overnight in
Guest House / Forest Bungalow. ( Aprox. 8-10 hrs of walking
)
Day
13: Yamnotri-Mussoorie - Trek down to the road-head
and proceed by Jeep to the hill station Mussoorie- overlooking
the Doon valley. En-route visit Lakhamandal- a site associated
with the heroes of the epic 'Mahabharata'. There is an ancient
temple and cave formations which are of interest. Overnight
in Hotel at Mussoorie.( 10 Kms trek from Yamnotri to road-head;
3-4 hrs walking )
Day
14: Mussoorie-Delhi - Day at leisure to explore the
town. After lunch, proceed to Dehra Dun to board the 1700
hrs Train to Delhi. 2230 hrs arrival at Delhi; proceed to
the Airport for onward flight back home.
